Dessert, Fortified & Fruit Wine by RL Buller from Victoria, Australia. The medium dark amber-colored Premium Fine Muscat (100% Muscat) reveals terrific aromas of toffee, melted caramel, molasses, brown sugar, hazelnuts, and smoke. - Wine Advocate Since the first grapes were harvested at Rutherglen in the 1850’s, connoisseurs of fine fortified wines in Australia and the United Kingdom have recognized the Muscats of the region as wines of unsurpassed richness. Today, wine merchants, writers and consumers around the globe acclaim the fortified Muscats of Rutherglen as truly the world’s richest wines. Extracting the syrupy juice from the fully ripened Brown Muscat grapes is a painstaking and extremely sticky task - taking patience to press all the rich liquid from the raisined berries. The real art of the Rutherglen Muscat makers is their extraordinary ability to assemble parcels of Muscat from a range of wines of varying vintage, richness and complexity, to consistently blend each of their products year after year. Rutherglen Muscat is a wonderful and versatile accompaniment to food, and the many styles of Muscat produced in the region allow innovative combinations of wine and food. The lighter Rutherglen Muscats are superb aperitifs - a perfect way to prepare for a hearty meal. In the warmer months they can be chilled without loss of flavor. ? ?

Red Wine by Bodegas Castano from Spain. Inky violet. Deep cherry and cassis aromas complicated by an array of floral, mineral and herbal nuances. Powerful dark fruit flavors are firmed by solid tannins and lifted by gentle minerality. Picks up smoked meat and anise notes on the long, chewy finish. This could be a Bandol. Is the average buyer at this price point ready for this? Another amazing value. -International Wine Cellar Dense, clean and brilliant color. Magnificent fruity display (plums, fig bread combined with red fruit), medium strong balsam aromas(mentholated) which are perfectly integrated. On the palate, it is smooth and silky with mature, polished tannins and a full, pleasant finish.

Dessert, Fortified & Fruit Wine by Ramos Pinto from Portugal. This ruby port has a vibrant youthful color, with a red-brown rim that is the only visual concession to maturity. It has full aromas unveiling dry plum, fig and berry scents with a touch of pepper. On the palate, the attack is soft and succulent. This is a rich, subtle wine with a fine, generous structure and remarkable persistence. The Collector is an excellent accompaniment to mild cheeses and sweet dark chocolate. An unfiltered vintage character port is a blend of several excellent vintages aged in wood for about six years. The wine retains its delicate fruity aromas while gaining the patina and roundness of age. The Collector gives wine drinkers the opportunity to experience a vintage quality wine without laying it down for years

Dessert, Fortified & Fruit Wine by Quady from California. From 100% Orange Muscat with an aroma reminiscent of Orange Blossom and Apricot, and a lingering refreshing aftertaste, Essensia is used as a dessert accompaniment or a dessert in itself. The Orange Muscat grape variety is little known. It was once grown in France and there are some small plantings in Italy and Australia. The wine is lightly fortified to about 15% alcohol and aged for 3 months in French Oak. Its relatively high acidity makes it taste balanced, even with its considerable sweetness, more like the taste of fresh fruit than an old fashioned sticky sweet muscat.

White Wine by Trimbach from Alsace, France - regions. This famous Riesling comes from the choicest slopes of Ribeauville overlooking the Trimbach winery. The exposure is south and southeast. The vines’ high average age of some 30 years ensures low yields and concentrated fruit. The clay-limestone soil contains a high proportion of fossil-flecked muschel-kalk, which bangs out all that is best in the Riesling. Cuvee Frederic Emile is made solely frm very ripe grapes, picked selectively at the end of the harvest. Dry and firmly-structured, but very fruity, this multifaceted wine owes its great depth of flavour to the combination of Riesling grapes with ideal soil. After a few years in bottle it reveals a fascinating mineral nuance. This long-lived Riesling bears the name of our great ancestor, Frederic Emile Trimbach. It is prized by connoisseurs for its breed and finesse.
